Noob Cubase/Z3ta question... Help

Hello everyone, i haven't posted on here much although i'm always reading the forum, picking up new tips etc as i go. I'm messing around with cubase and z3ta at the moment.. I have a midi track which is 4 phrases long and i have it looped in cubase. I'm just messing around with z3ta but everytime cubase loops back to the beginning of the midi it changes the settings in z3ta back to the default preset it was on when i started.

I know this is probably a stupid question but i can't work it out so can someone please tell me how to stop this from happening, so what i've changed stays changed in order for me to play with the other settings as the midi loops?

Thanks
Liamh
Sorry guys, i've just noticed jåcë's post with exactly the same question in ableton. I have it sorted now.

Thanks anyways..

Right, this is really pissing me off now.. It hasn't been sorted at all. When i play the track, when it gets to the midi in question it defaults back to the ty preset it was on before.

I have the preset i want selected in cubase and z3ta plus the midi track is locked (tbh i don't actually know what effect this has  )

Any idea's?

Thanks

There must be a controller in the midi track that sets zeta to some patch. Or you used the bnk setting in the midi tracks settings. Whichever it is, delete all midi controllers for the track, and set bnk: off.

this happens alot if you have imported a midi file into your track. if i import a midi file i copy and paste it into a new track then delete the imported one.

You can do what gr8ape and dj_kane said.

Or you can delete the midi cc data in each midi file:
- double-click a midi file
- look at the bottom lane
- then from the left side click on the dropdown menu. Some entries will have a little star/asterisk (*) next to them.
Those are the ones which change stuff.
- Select each one of those and delete the midi data that you see on the bottom lane.

Or you can have a look at the second part of this reply:
