IE7 Cleartype

I hate it!

I installed IE7 on a spare computer to try it out and searched around to see why my usual sites had fonts that looked horrid - both on a CRT and an LCD.

I read on some sites that you can tune it with some other apps but I can't be bothered - I like the old style IE6 way better, or Firefox.

It's 'smoother' but less crisp... so if you're at a high resolution and with small fonts things become harder to read because there isn't as much space between characters (since the cleartype made the fonts wider/bolder)

why even bother updating to IE7? it's always going to suck... just like every other version

I agree, but god damn, italicized fonts look sooooooo much better in cleartype than in the standard font.

Italicized text isnt important enough to make me put up with another microsoft program.

Also, i've yet to hear about improvements in the spyware/adware domain for IE7

Have to say i prefer the look compared to IE6, but still prefer to use firefox.
