I would estimate that the net effect of those phenomena that might collectively be described as "porn" is "somewhat good" as pertains to my present personal objectives, given current circumstances.
For example, it operates in conjuction with a number of other phenomena to erode the influence of archaic moral systems that include an inordinate preoccupation with human mating behaviors. However, in some cases it may also reinforce that particular inordinate preoccupation. |

Most of it is completely surreal to me. It's a bizarre stylized ritual that serves to signify sex. It is meta-sex, more sexy than sex itself. I can't think of a better example of a simulacrum. There's something odd and grotesque about the phenomenon.
