AGPx8 on AGPx4 help please

Hi.
I have AGPx4 slots on my board and i want to put on it an AGPx8 card. can i do it ? (i know that if i can the AGPx8 will work like AGPx4).

| If your card supports AGP4 as well as AGP8, which it should, then yes, it will work in an AGP4 slot. |

| All the cards I've ever seen supported AGP4x if they supported 8x |

| Yes this will work just fine. I'm doing the same thing right now on my Mame computer since the videocard isn't really important. The only available one I had was a AGP 8x however the PC is older and only has a 4x slot. It will just run at 4x. |

| There are no reasons why can't put that card in your AGP Slot, It will work little slower than AGP 8X but it will work fine |

| If I were you, I upgrade that system with a motherboard that uses PCI-Express, All the newest graphics card uses PCI-Express slots and they are faster then AGP 8x. |

Not really, Some of the MAME games ran slow on my old system, But once I built my new system, Games like Cruisin USA ran a lot faster. |
