My DJ Return To Baltimore; The Review With Pics To Come

After a year hiatus from playing baltimore i returned last night to spin at goodlove bar in baltimore. The expierience was much more enjoyable then the last time i played let me tell you. although there were a few problems:) (aint there always!!)
so i scouted the place out a week before just make sure they had everything i need. two technics. good. 2 cdj 800's. good,but they were downstairs, and im playing upstairs.my promoter friend sais he doesnt think the other dj that night will use them,but to be on the safe side ill bring my own,screw it.
now the mixer: ugh, i should have looked at it harder. turns out its a battle mixer with the transformers real close to the sound volume controls and everything is SENSITIVE to the touch.great if your a scratcher but not fo me! i brought my own mixer but couldnt use it due to thier mixer having amp cables for the speakers downstairs and mine didnt have those slots.plus the slot for the headphones is so lose if you moved to far it pops the headphone cable out. argh.
after a while of trying to figure out how to turn on the speaker system,everything starts and were on our way! i start at 10pm .yikes the controls are sensitive! first 30 minutes are rough. little off with the beatmatch for a second then my sleeve hits the transformer and.... music stops.... nice...
i am so mad i cant even see stright!!! i wanted to rip my sleeves off at the shouldrs!! arghhh!!but thankfully .. i have vodka:) (and theres really no one there yet) i roll my sleeves up and take a drink. and start to bang out the tunes. i had to work at that mixer but i got it to work on a level i was comfortable with .
after that it was a great night. i had people come in as far as VA to see me and that was awesome!! fellow TA and roomy stix came out and i started throwing glowsticks into the crowd! took pictures and gave out free cd's.and the best part... i got paid.. which i didnt expect to happen.my promoter friend seemed pleased and it looks like i may play again!
so in all a few errors which i expected but i great night in the end!!i want to thank my friends rob,chuck,john,scott,darell, and all their friends for coming out!

hey I am really happy everything went really with your gig in Baltimore and seeesm you have a shot be there local up there. I wanna apologize for not making it out but I had such a long day because I of black friday that I end up working from 3am-3pm and by the time I got home I was done and didn't wake up to till 1am :( :whip: :thepirate
