what i dont understand, is why none of you terrorist apologists dont take issue with syria or iran subjugating the lebanese people via a proxy war with israel? |
Proxy wars are faught on several fronts. Hezbollah came after the invasion of the first lebanese war. You invade a country to kill the PA, and slaughter 50,000 lebanese civilians at the same time.... you get pissed off people.
I dont agree with Hizbollahs islamic agenda,, as i am titally aginst religious implentation in government, but if they can DEFEND Lebanon from Israels invasions... i support them.
If it were the Lebanese army defending lebanon from Israels invasion.. i would support them too.
I look at intent.. instead of attacking people with labels slapped on them. |

You know, the funny things is, I'd call 'US apologists' and 'Israel apologists' 'terrorist apologists', where the label is actually far more appropriate as those two states have engaged in far more terrorism than anyone else ever since WW2. No one is condoning terrorism when they criticize US or Israeli policy, far from it, just like you don't condone Israli state sponsored terrorism ;). |

but how do you defend a country like iran using hezbollah to undermine lebanese authority or sovereignty? theres no way hezbollah didn't "ok" the soldier kidnapping operation with iran. now, the resulting invasion was indefensible to say the least, but iran should shoulder some of the blame for it. hezbollah aren't defending anyone- exactly how did they defend the 1000 civilians killed by israel? did they prevent the destruction of bridges and other vital infrastrucure?
they fired a few mis-guided rockets into israel. wow.

i know, but its always the same people criticising from the same angle. as if the US or Israel or whomever dont have legitimate grievances from time to time. as if this is a conflict with only one nation/organisation at fault or as an aggressor.
as long as this is a game where partisanship rules supreme, we will never see an end to the bloodshed. |

They were defending Lebanon as most people would,,, by FIGHTING back. Just becuase people were killed, and bridges were bombed.. doesnt mean that hezbollah wasnt fighting Israels murderous campaign. And you know what, Hezbollah did indeed fight the ground forces like "lions" as one ISraeli general put it. He was very surprised at how well they faught.
Dont utlize the "soldier" incident as something that started that war. There have been countles similar skirmishes like that along the leb/israel border ever since Israel left Lebanon in 2000 |

It's not partisanship, it's clarity in seeing a cause and effect relationship. |
