Hi there NY TA's, I'm comin to NYC for new years and am looking for some events/recommendations on things to see or do while we are there. We will probably spend all 3 nights clubbing but want to see some of the sights during the day too. (namely, MoMA, Canal St :D )

does anyone know of any house or techno events going on? (Aside from tiesto and francois K's night @ Cielo)

Where is the best place to get rangers tickets? (ticketmaster is sold out, team exchange won't take international credit cards)

Any other recommendations/suggestions would be appreciated. :)
Vlad
NYC is dead for New Years... picked the wrong city to come to.

All the known events are listed in the party planner thread stickied up top.

Empire State Building, Central Park, The Village, Times Square (at night), 5th Avenue. Statue of Liberty isnt a good idea since it will be cold like crazy.

If you want to check out some restaurants, go to newyork.citysearch.com - its self explanatory once youre there. There is also a restaurant thread somewhere around here also, so if youre interested in going some place someone from the forums might have been there and you could read a review.

Rangers tickets arent happening, sorry. Try using google and seeing whats available from what sites, but youre not gonna be able to buy one at MSG.

Crobar, Pacha, Spirit, Cielo are the main clubs here.

Of the top of my head: my friend who works at Prospect Park in Brooklyn said that some Artist is doing some wicked light show around the ARC there. Also, the Brooklyn Museum right over from the ARC is very good to visit. :toocool:

NYE, Crobar has a nice line-up and will be stay open until 8pm. :disbelief

May be StereoNY will host a nice NYE party since its their first year.

I'm coming from Toronto which always has squat for NYE anyways.
Besides, we're not really coming to club...we are both music lovers and if there are events happening great, but if not, we will still have a great time.

Re. Rangers tickets - www.newyorkcitytickets.com has them, as does ticketmaster's "buy from fans" site - however, the former has ridiculous shipping/processing fees and the latter doesn't take international credit cards, nor will they process an order over the phone.

from what I remember, you like techno, right?

The party event planner is stickied, but so far NYE is not looking that great....the few nights before are a bit better.

Why aren't you staying up north? they are having some great parties from what I have read.

eBay is the only thing I could suggest, but its risky going that route.

May I suggest asking somebody in NY to buy those tickets for you. (Unless you dont know anybody here)
