I use the Izotope Ozone harmonic exciter and it makes a big difference. My question --> Is it wise to use the harmonic exciter on individual tracks or is it better to use it on the sum channel? Derivative A harmonic exciter is essentially a distortion but which only works on a very narrow frequency range. Use it when you need to use it. Don't get all fire and forget on everyone's ass and start using them without thinking what you are doing. But then that applies to every processing hoop you make your sound jump through.
