Im getting bored with presets, and want to try out something different.
I want to know how to manipulate pads, sounds etc -
Do I need hardware, plug-ins, which knobs do I need to twiddle etc?
Im a noob at stuff like this...:nervous:
If you dont quite know what I mean - take a listen to the link - its a sample from Autechre's Eutow.
Autechre - Eutow Sample
The idea I want to replicate is how they manipulate the string sound.
Its probably really straight forward but until someone points me in the right direction, Ill never find out!
I already have Glitch but thats not really want I need (i dont think)
Cheers guys...

Sounds like your basic automated pitch-shifting. One of the shifts goes up and back down to normal really fast and the other (on the "bass" string part) bends up and goes down to normal more gradually. Use the pitch bend wheel on your synth or sampler. |

Thanks,
but i already tried that - I used the pitch wheel, then went into the midi editor and drew a very fast, very sharp pitch bend, but it still seems to pitch 'bend' rather than you hearing the definate change like the sample.
I have made sure that 'glide' is set to off too on my Vst.
Can anyone else help?

If it is a synth patch, you can get the effect by putting the octave or semitone controls up and down really quick. If you use that method, you won't notice any "bending" at all. |
