They wouldn't fare at all because they are completely different instruments.
Nord Lead and Virus are both Analogue modelling synthesizers. i.e. they are good at making obviously synthesized sounds. They suck at making real acoustic sounds like pianos and guitars.
A Triton is a Sample playback workstation synthesizer. It on the other hand is quite good at making real acoustic sounds because it samples them. however, they suck at making obviously synthesized sounds because they weren't designed with a mind to modelling analogue synthesizer behaviour. |

Yes.....but the demos that I have downloaded from Korg for the 'Trance/Attack ' option that is included sound like the stuff I hear in the clubs (which is what I want to write).......can a Nord and a Virus B do that.....I have an MPC 1000 and a Ensoniq ASR.....so I want gear that is great for writing dance/Club music.......so is the Triton Extreme better to get or is the Virus and Nord better to get? |

You could do that with anything you like. It's skill that makes an artist, not the synth. |

all that pack/add on will do is make the triton imitate a nord/virus. problem is that you cannot make your own sounds on it. it will always be based on the samples that korg have implanted in the synth/add on |

use proper structure man, its a pain in the dick to read!
i'm with everyone else here, it wont compare. it would almost just be like getting a virus/jp sample cd. if thats all you want i would just do that. it's certainly a lot cheaper :) |

I want both. I like to hear some samples in trance not just synth all the time. Then you've got all your pianos and strings as well as classic synth sounds. Also would probably be better than a virus for writing coz you spend less time on the sound and more on the writing AND it has a better piano sound and better piano keyboard. I would go for a phantom though rather than a korg:) Just me... |
