I've used Logic before, but not enough to be able to answer this. But now that you posted that, maybe someone else will be able to help you.

helped someone w/ kontakt in ableton the other day on this... you should be able to translate this into logic pretty easy....

on kontakt, say you have an epiano, a bass, and a percussion

on the epiano go to the midi channel option and select PORT A (from host) > 1

then for the bass select PORT A (from host) 2 and for the percussion select PORT A (from host) 3

now in live you need to set up a new midi channel for each instrument, the midid channel you put kontakt on can be your first. set another empty midi channel next to it and on the midi to option select kontakts midid chanel and below that a box will appear, select which channel on kontakt you want it to go to. do the same for the thrird channel. then play away. i leave the monitor settings to auto.

Update to the most recent version and it should work. Set up battery as a multi out instrument, then select which outs you want to use in battery and setup aux objects accordingly.
