I only really use it within a certain circle of friends. The bad influential ones that we all know we should probably not hang around with.
Funny timing with this thread really - only earlier today did I get in a bit of because of this word. I phoned a mate of mine from work who just so happens to be in this bad 'circle of friends.' Just a quick thing to note, when I call someone from my work phone I always put it on speaker, and then when they answer I pick up the receiver - I do this because I am lazy. Today was no exception - and I went ahead with my call completely forgetting who was about to answer the phone.
"MICHAEL YA CUNT, HOW YA DOING?"
Chief Executive about 5 metres to my right. My head of department at her desk even closer on the left. Another 8 or 9 of my collegues scattered around the room. ing hell, if looks could kill. |

| I use it interchangably with any other curse word actually. Don't see the big deal. |

| It's a great word, but only one I use with close friends, and only ever in jest. And never around my girlfriend. :nervous: |

| I personally don't like the word. I never say it, and don't like hearing it. |

It seems to be mostly females who despise hearing/using/the existence of the word - what, exactly, makes this word so much worse than any other?
The only reason I can think of is that the general un-popularity of the word made it seem even more taboo at an early age. I know I'd never even heard of the word until I was like 11 or 12 years old and - I was walking in an airport with my father and the loudspeaker called the name of "Mike Hunt" - my dad started laughing and I looked at him with a perplexed expression. What was this word - I thought I knew them all. Was it SO bad that it was kept from the ears of children as a closely guarded secret because of the power it held?
It is just a word, and words only carry power to the people who hear them, which is why this word seems so much more powerful than all of the others - because of people's reactions to it. Logically though, why is this word any worse than the others? |
