Looks like a neat DAW but I never hear anyone say they use it. Anyone have any thoughts on Project 5? Love it? Hate it? Why?
Thanks! |

i recently got project5 version 2 for hella cheap and i think it is a very capable sequencer. You definitely get your "bang for the buck" with this. it includes all the necessities to start making music. Dimension is great for a wide variety of sounds and if you learn how to use PSYN-II then you can push some decent sounds out of it. You've got velocity which is pretty much the basic drum machine that can load up samples and has 16 different pads. The effects are pretty decent and all the other synths and instruments are very useful. It is vst compatible (well,...it turns any vst's into Direct X) so u can expand on that. I would suggest buying better soft synths if you plan on getting this.
if you want to listen to something coming out of project5 V2, here is something i am working on at the moment....

I didn't spend time on the mixing so don't mind that too much :D. and i also used samples outside of p5 v2.
p5 is a fun program to use but i prefer FL Studio 6 as my main work station. I find it easier. The learning curve isn't too bad. it is somewhat like FL Studio since they are both pattern based.
all in all, p5 is a great, fun program to use and to get ideas and music down quickly. i actually find it underrated. |

Project5 is currently the only sequencer besides Live, that has the "session" feature. Though it's not named "session" in Project5. ;)
Out of the two, I prefer Live. |
