So how was Hernan?
Miss Julia
Last night was fun. I've never seen Vangaurd so packed before. Hernan rocked, but he played a bunch of played out songs. I recognized almost every song he played. But the tracks were good.

Once David Guetta started, the music got way louder. He was HORRIBLE. The only good song he played was his opening song, "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit". The rest was so freakin cheesey its not even funny. The crowd was enjoying it though. Dumbasses... they don't understand what good music is! lol

Hopefully next weekends music will make up for the crap last night. Lee Burridge & Loco Dice. :gsmile:

It's so funny you say that, because I was under the impression that "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit" was rather cheesey itself :gsmile:

Well, it was the only "decent" song he played. :tongue2

umm he did not open with fedde la grande. he opened with pryda - proper education.

but i agree guetta played a whole bunch of essential cheese.
here is his TL in just the first 30-45min.

pryda - proper education
the egg vs. guetta - walking away
chris lake - changes
put your hands up for detroit
justice vs. simian - we are your friends

he kept dropping these until i left. vanguard was PACKED! I had to go upstairs just to sit down.

I loved Hernan. Julia thinks everything is overplayed. Must be because we listen to all his sets every week. ;)
wewt metrodance.

hernan was so ing sexy not. david guetta rocked the place. if you don't like house you shouldn't have been there in the first place. his tracks were just like his radio show. i do prefer roger sanchez night at vanguard though. great night. cheers all.

LOL @ randy and julia.

Hernan rocked most of his set, good tracks!! :D

but then guetta... first TWO TRACKS that guetta played were straight up KRAFT brand. all we heard out in the patio was... ''welcome to detriot... i love this city''.... which is cool and all... but you are from PARIS!!! bring us tracks we've never heard please!!

oh yeah... and right when he overlayed the cheesiest vocals that go ''put your hands up in the air'', my friends and i looked at eachother.... then walked to the car...

fei fei played a rocking techno set at spundae! glad we went! ^_^

i had a great time. the venue was slammed - only other time i've seen it that busy was for Sharam...

i liked Hernan's set....but i was there for Guetta anyway.

He played pretty much exactly what i expected and what he is known for. If its not your cup of tea, fine, but obviously a ton of people loved his set.

i'll def be at his F*ck Me I'm Famous party at Crobar Miami at the 2007 WMC....

hernan = good
guetta = cheese

hernan did not seem to be his ususal self. kinda on and off the whole night. but he did play some good stuff.

and guetta seemed to just play absolute cheese that anyone can get from beatport months ago. 'put you hands up for detroit'? i expected some newer stuff, not top 40's edm crap.

the placed was super packed. the upstairs was pretty cool, except for the really tweeked out dj playing up there. and i don't know if it was just me who noticed, but everyone there just seemed to be really ed up. i really didn't dig the whole night. left and headed to spundae for the last hour. never thought i would end up there at the end of the night. but fei fei was good as usual.

hell yea, hooj, you a cool guy. :)

Hernan's set was absolute sickness! totally loved what he was playing, he's one of the only progressive house djs that still does it right. Guetta, although, rocked it. the only song I hated was "put your hands up", can't stand that ing song! every dj at every club, every day in ibiza played that track...sometimes twice! but as soon as he dropped "a little more love" I lost it :p that song is sick no matter who you are. all in all, it was a drunkenly fun evening!

junior were you even there? I don't remember seeing you...
