compressor/de-esser from tc's native-bundle has a special sidechain plugin, that you can put on the track that you want to trigger the ducking-effect with. |

i've got this package ... could you explain exactly what i need to do? ... i've tried setting up the compresor on the relevant track but can't seem to get an input to activate it?
i assumed it was similar to the way it'd be done in logic? :conf:

actually i dont own it, i just saw it at a shop once. as far as i remember there is a special sidechainer plugin in the package that you put as an insert into the channel that you want to be the trigger. it is just a very small gui with a meter and a device number you can assign to it. i am currently looking at some screenshots on the tc website. you can see it there. in the compresser plugin you can then select the corresponding number as keyinput. if you have to make other settings i dont know, maybe you should look into the manual |

easy...let me make an example
track 1 is kick
track 2 is bass (you want that Bennassi like effect)
put sidechainer on track 1...
put compressor on track 2 click on key input (it should be set to 1 by default).
Then just take some extreme settings like...threshold 26, ratio 60:1, attack 0.1, and play with the release...something around 30 should do the job just fine...
have fun :P |
