M-Audio Trigger Finger vs. Korg PadKontrol vs. Akai MPD-24

So I bought my Xone:3D and had some spare cash left over for another midi surface.

Now all these are the same price, of all of them, the trigger finger looks least solid (as far as looks go, can't find a decent comparison review). The MPD looks the most solid follow by the Korg.

My question is, do any of you have any experience as far as comparison of these 3 machines go? I've heard great things about the trigger finger but then again I would like to know if these 3 compare or are better.

Akai MPD-24:

Korg PadKontrol:

M-Audio Trigger Finger:

I want something at the same price range. 200$, no greater.

Any help would be magnificent.

Thanks in advance.

you need to go feel them for yourself. with pad controllers, the feel of the pad is really important. some are flat plastic, some are rubbery. rubbery ones annoy the out of some people, because you dont get the instant response as with a harder button.

personally i would go the AKAI, especially if youre using it for djing at all - more controllers. korgs are over rated imo, unless you need an x-y pad i wouldnt bother ;)

Ya i really thought the Akai aswell, very nice looking aswell, they have the akai at the dj shop near my house, played with it and i really like it, just havent used the others at all.

thanks echo:)

avoid the trigger finger, the velocity sensitivity is absolute after a period of use...

i tried the triggerfinger and the padkontrol at the shop. the akai wasnt out yet at that time. i took the padkontrol as it felt way better for me. but take care that you get one from the newer charge that does not produce ghostnotes as some users report. cant say anything about the akai, maybe i should have waited a little longer

I love the Trigger Finger. I use that, an O2 keyboard, and a Powerbook on stage. The thing I like about the m-audio is it is super light, durable, and easy to travel with. And the beauty about it, is no need for drivers (not sure about PC's) But I can be playing 20 minutes into a set and plug the control surface in and BOOM ! it works! right on the spot.

I would go for the Trigger, espically if your using Ableton. MIDI mapping and super smooth integration/reliablity is big on me!

Well actually, I totally switched up my choices, got a Novation ReMOTE ZeRO SL instead of either 3 of those, think the 100 extra bucks was worth it.

i would go for the korg, simply because of the x/y-pad...

thats from only looking at the pics tho..
