Using 2 usb midi controllers

Hi guys,
Firstly, yes I have used the stickies and yes, ive used the search button - but they only answer my question in a roundabout way - so wondered if any of you actually use what im about to ask?
I have a cheap e-keys 49 USB midi controller (with no assignable knobs) at the moment which is powered by, and hooks straight up to my Pc via USB lead. It was fine while I was starting out, but now I would like to add a controller with assignable knobs so I can mess with my VSt's in real time.
My question is this - can i purchase a seperate midi controller with knobs and sliders etc, and use the two simultaneously with Cubase?
eg - play the keyboard whilst varying the sound with the other controller? I know it will be possible to just change the midi controller with Cubase, but have read that most sequencers merge the midi.
Your help would be greatly appreciated, especially if other users already use this method etc.

yes you can, best way to go about it would be using MIDI yoke and MIDI Ox. Midi Yoke are drivers that act like virtual midi cables, Midi Ox is best described as a "Swiss army knife for midi".
By using these two together you can use Midi Ox to route the inputs from both devices to a single virtual midi port, and then use that port within Cubase (it's actually alot simpler than it sounds :)) |

Thanks guys, although I was looking for a more straight forward -
"YES YOU CAN COS I DO IT!"
The thing is, im about to buy a Berhinger BCF2000, but dont want to spend the money if its impossible to use.
I could always try and hook everything up with Midi instead of USB, but being a total noob when it comes to stuff like that, i will probably have to get some help - (probably from you guys!)
Thanks,
