How will this affect legitimate producers who spend time actually designing their own sounds and loops and arpeggios? This VSTi will just oversaturate the market with commercial trance songs and make it that much harder for anybody to get signed.

What's your take on it? To tell you the truth, I wish Nexus was never born - I don't foresee anything good resulting from the release of this new plug-in.

I tell you what I think. Good music is good music. Don't tell me that just because someone can use a good-sounding preset that it means they'll be able to release a record. If the market is over-saturated with cheese and commercial crap, who cares? It means someone is buying it. In the mean time, I think where trance used to be less focused on composition and more on the exclusive sounds that were produced by pros, it is now becoming more serious and LESS cheesy because the sounds are not enough anymore. Melodies and compositions matter more and more IMO.

Meh

More presets for the masses

Software sucks anyways

Presets are nice, but to be really good, you have to design your own sounds, or else the music you amke wont be exactly what you want it to be

The demos are really awesome.. Well, its nothing for the experimential sound designer. But producers who prefer a workflow with focus on quick results couldnt purchase anything better.
The presets are all very fat and already well-compressed.

All you gotta know is actually how to edit and sequence and how to filter sounds (lo-cut) so they fit in your arrangement.

i just got done playing with the Demo ..and i really give it a 7 out of 10. It's nothing really new to my ears, but some of the plucks and gated sounds along with the pads are what grabbed my attention. The saw leads sounded boring and euro cheezy.

There's a demo out?

people need to get a life and stop moaning.. at the end of the day it's what the individual does with it.. anybody can make trance but it's harder to make good sounding trance i think the more talented producers will take these patches and maybe layer them in the background with synths they have made themselves or something just experiment it's easy to go straight for the preset sounds but maybe someone will do something more creative with them.
