But what you stated before said that we are attuned to and find enjoyment in music because it elicits positive feelings, right? Our species, biologically and psychologically, hold on to this sensation and reaction to vibration by an evolutionary means - wasn't that what you were getting at before?
The entire evolutionary process may have begun by pure coincidence, but the traits we possess are evident and there for a reason, not just pure coincidence...
or are they? :conf:
Seems like a total matter of speculative opinion to me. :p |

Predestination is a concept that most people these days regard with distaste, but how much freedom and control do we truly possess? |

well, i was saying that music having an impact on our feelings was coincidental. However, it not being eliminated isn't.
Like sex. Sex is to pass our genes on, but it feels good. It feeling good is just a mere coincidence that happened somewhere in evolution and stayed because it increases the likelihood that we will have sex and pass our genes.
Music could be the same way, it unites people and increases social interaction (cough cough, TA). |

So what you're saying is...
1. Music
2. Sex
3. ...
4. Profit! |

Exactly!
I wonder if anyone ever wrote a paper on the subject of Music as a sexual social glue :conf: |
