i know where to get the full version of atomixmp3 v2...

dj = vinyl manipulator

no necessary wookie slut, look at the pionner CDDJ 1000's they ARE digital turntables, owns vinyls ass and u get it in good quality. PVD uses CD's for 40% of his set and he uses CD-R's norammly, so vinyl isnt necessarily the in thing. PC Djing on the other hand is great for amking a quick mix to listen to but it aint good.

AtomixMp3 is quite good. Nice beatmatching stuff.

I wanna try to mix with Acid 3.0, but I'm really at it. Anyone know of any tutorials? Ta.

You can get everything off KaZaA (www.kazaa.com). Yes, it's illegal, but if you only want to mess around, where's the harm in not paying? If you start to use it seriously, buy it, that's my motto.

I agree, BUT, if you are using a PC with an external mixer, as I do, PCDJ is a lot better because:

1. It looks like a hardware cd-player, interface much easier to use
2. The recordcase-system is much better
3. Automatic beatmatching is for kids :)

Agree BPM matching is for kids, and Trackor isn't the greatest, it doesn't synchronize properly, and doesn't have pitch bend. If I'm to mix on a computer it would be pcdj, or mj studio.

Bassaholix - I wouldn't agree with the statement that computer mixing should be looked down upon.

I would really love to get into some turntables, but putting money into my college/university education right now is probably a better idea. :D

Anyways, I've used MixMeister pretty extensively, and you CAN include some samples. In fact, starting with my 6th Mix, I experimented with creating multi-layered intro tracks to the mixes. Mix 7 has a "Fight Club" sample in the intro, and I use overlays throughout.

If you want to check out some of my mixes, drop me a line at [email protected], or see if you can find them on Audiogalaxy.

Yeah, I use MixMeister as well and think it's a fantastic app. for mixing! I'm by no means a pro-dj, and MixMeister is by no means a pro-setup, but it's still great fun to play with. I've even managed to produce some kick-A$$ mixes with it.

It does a fairly decent job of counting the bpm's, but in no way does the auto-beat matching feature do a good job. With some practicing, I'm sure anyone could easily produce a mixed album comparable to any big-name dj. How??? because it's really quite a simple program to use/learn.

It's lacking right now in the pitch control area, but does an adequate job. Samples would be a great addition to any newer versions, and I'm sure that it will come in time.

I've tried a few other pc-mixing programs, and IMO this one is the best. You only need 1 sound card and it exports to .wav format. You can also broadcast your mixes with this application which is a great feature.

And about being looked down upon for mixing on the pc....pssshhht. I don't care how the sounds/mixes were made, if they sound good I and others will listen!

I've mixed using acid about year ago, but IMO mixing using sequencer software isn't actually real mixing. I mixed three 1-hour sets, working on each one took me about 4-8 hours. So you had better use mixing software.

mj's nudge isn't very perfect so i gave it up for atomix 2.1

I use Native Instruments Traktor at the moment, and the program is pretty decent. In my opinion, If you're mixing live, and you don't have any fully automatic beatmatching going on, then it doesnt matter what you're mixing it on, it's still considered a Dj mix. In the next week, I'm going to get a setup, probably going all Numark :D
