View this Thread in Original format Emperor Hi there as I mentioned in another post i Just got a Imac duo core....I have no soundcard specifically for it so I dug the Firewire Motu 828 mk2 out of my closet and hooked it up. I then downloaded the drivers from Motu's site and installed them....then when i rebooted the computer it would not start past the Apple symbol....Does anyone know if I can use this soundcard with the new intel core 2 chip?? Or is it useless to me?....thanks DigiNut Firewire is firewire - it's external, so it really can't be interfering with your internal hardware. Did you try disconnecting the 828, and did it start OK without it connected? Either way it sounds like a bad driver or a driver conflict. Maybe the download got corrupted, maybe you got the wrong driver by accident, etc. Or maybe Try it again, and if you still have problems then google your specific iMac with the 828 and see if you get any results, and if you get nothing then contact Motu's tech support, that's what they're there for!
