I hope this isen't against posting rules, i'm pretty sure its not - but if it was, sorry >_<

A close friend of mine ( who was diagnosed with Hodgekins Lymphoma two years ago ) started this website a couple of days ago - www.cancerdiscussion.com

"I’ve created cancerdiscussion, in an effort to spread awareness, but more importantly help cancer patients all around the world connect, and support each other"

...

"My sincere hope is to gather people, toward building a strong, constructive, and supportive community, where we can educate and aid each other through the tough times."

Currently he's working on spreading the word and getting hospitals and other organizations involved. I think it's an absolutely great idea. If you know anyone that would be interested please refer them to the site.

This is a non-profit community. The discussion & information forums are absolutely free to use.You can show your support by just signing up and helping the community grow - it's for an excellent cause, and I hope some of you check it out.

:)

Porky
i would recommend Lance Armstrong's autobiographies (he has two).

his life story is so powerful b/c of the way he was able to fight through negativity (doctors prognosing that he had little chance of survival), to come out of the disease strong and healthy

alot of people today give doctors too much credit, when in reality, most doctors only adhere to biased opinions. when this opinion is wrong, it can have devastating consequences for their patients.
