Does anyone else think he's a bit crap. All he seems to do is about with the loop on his CDJ's and use what seems like the transform on a EFX1000. I think he's highly overrated and his track selection is somewhat lacking, but i'd like to hear what you think about him.

I used to like him a lot more as a warm up DJ. He's 'ok' though.
Ian
I've heard some really good stuff from him, but the majority of it has left me feeling a bit bored, and that he's flogging the same tricks too much. I'd much rather hear someone like tom harding who can do the tricks but has a better understanding of tunes imo
Blakey
he was a lot better around 2003 when he was playing his 'bosh2' kinda techno
SPANIARD
He's better live than some people expect. In Toronto he had a peak hour when he didn't touch the mixer at all and was sounding quite intense.

My overall reaction is good, but like many others, was much better before.
slinkyhead
he's an entertainer, can be very good and technically awesome but does tend to bosh it out a bit too much occasionally and certainly goes overboard on the loops everyonce in a while e.g.:

Grrrrr
In terms of entertainment Eddie is by far and away my favourite DJ of 2006. More videos for anyone interested

The only time I got to see him was at the Ultra 8 in Miami. But I only listened to him for like 5 minutes. Who wants to hear John Askew-type trance at 2pm on a sunny day? :whip:

But after watching some of those youtube videos, I came to a conclusion that he is a quite overrated, but still much more skilled than Tiesto or Armin :stongue: . He definitely can put on a great show, but people just talk about too much.

Eddie is amazing! His set at Cream @ Amnesia in Ibiza (last party he played before the closings) was the best in my complete Ibiza trip: Very energetic, creative and he really managed to get the crowd going.

Eddie FTW!

Blakey is spot on. During the bosh era he was awesome. Playing tunes that no one else played and mixing it up in a creative way. Now he just sounds like every other tech-trance dj only hes even more commercial and occasionally cheesy. His looping and effect is like a side show to the tunes now and he ruins so many tunes by doing it over them. Like his electro house and techno sessions but he rarely plays early on at events now

He was better about 2-3 years ago but i still think he is pretty good
DJ Mikey Mike
He was better about 4-5 years ago.
