you know, i really think it depends on the cover.

if it looks good with the persons face on there, and it's done with good taste, then whatever; it's as good as haveing a nice scene or somthing.

but if it's a pretty plain cover , like AvB ASOT vol2, then ya, it's a piece of .

To get off-topic. How does one play this game?

Amusingly enough, you can tell exactly when BT started to go to by his face appearing on his album covers, and when he came back to glory on TBU- nothing of Transeau in sight!

I don't buy music because of a cover, I buy music because of the music.

I usually don't even know what the cover looks like when I'm gonna buy it.

From the label that brought you Let’s Hear It For The Boy, Let’s Hear It For The 80s and Circuit Boy, comes the brand-new long-awaited Trance Heaven Vol. 3! Vol. 3’s non-stop mix captures the soaring melodies and epic productions of one of the biggest sounds in gay dance music.

Trance Heaven: Volume 3

And this sits on the shelves of music stores and represents trance to people who have never heard of it before? :wtf:

This is going to sound weird to some people, but others will know what im talking about. I've been noticing a popular trend with Djs lately that have big releases, such a AVB, ATB, etc. When they release a cd, instead of the cover representing something of great beauty, or something abstract or large in concept, they just stick the face on the entire cover of the cd.
While the skills of these djs are not in question here, I feel as though the djs should understand that trance (for alot of people anyway) is bigger than a dj, or a producer, or any single person, and I feel as though these djs do trance a huge injustice when all they picture is themselves...i feel as though it even borders arrogance to think that a single persons face can cover any trance set, no matter what dj you are ..I love it when djs have something else on the cover even if they have to include themselves on part of it, such as endless blue skies, rolling mountain tops, or even city skylines, as I feel images like these capture the true essence of trance, something much greater than any single person. I feel as though examples of djs that do their cd covers right are, Markus Schulz "miami 05", Nick Warren "Live in shanghai", Robert Miles etc, Tiesto "In search of Sunrise 4".
Does anyone else here know what I'm talking about or is this just a mindless rant ? Thanks for listening guys

It's easier and cheaper to just take a picture of the DJ's face than to come up with something creative you most likely need to work on for days

some of those pics/poses look absurd.

there was a (non-EDM artist, can't recall who) CD released recently where the cover was empty aside from a background and inside the inlay were a whole bunch of stickers. The consumer picks what stickers they like and arranges the cover themselves. So essentially everyone has their own uniquely self-designed cover. Pretty cool concept I thought.
