fourth.. so, who's manzone and who's strong? :) |
:haha:
also one of the funniest moments of the night was during our commute to london. we stopped at the last tim hortons on 401 west. fab saw a trucker that was holding a mug/bucket that holds about one and half pots of coffee. ing insane! |

Seriously.. Enough with ripping on clubs in London in General.
If a particular club doesn't support a specific genre / niche, it's because (quite frankly) there isn't enough critical mass to make it worthwhile. There have been many attempts and almost as many failures.
Until a true clubgoing public start to come out of the woodwork, one that will pay cover, buy drinks and cause enough publicity in a way that will rival Top 40 clubs in the area, it's wrong to expect too much.
Enjoy these nights (as few as they are) and hope for the best! |

dont promote phoenix considering they ed gary (4 yr resident dj)over by thinking they just dont have to pay him and have been wanting "edm" nights out of there for some time stating that we make them absolutely no money and dont bring a good crowd. Aside from paying the dj's to come here what more has been done? we've been demoted to basement with a system that either works or it doesnt.
nothing is truly appreciated in london in general there are only a few faces u ever see at every single event no matter what the rest is all dependent on if their friends say it's cool to go or if they have heard of the dj (which i must state that we've had AMAZING dj's that oddly these so called fans know nothing about)or if they didnt party to hard the night before thru to the next day, etc.
Trying to explain to people in the pad while donald glaude is there that he is MASSIVE and they still just dont get it proved to be annoying or explaining who Joee Cons is and so on and so forth.
The lack of support within this city has disgusted me i hear whining constantly about not having good events/music and yet we bring many amazing dj's here and barely anyone shows up cause they got to ed up at "the farm" or the zone or this or that too many excuses.
i've grown more and more disappointed in this city and the scene here
i wish i had been part of lush days back when there was more of a scene here with a true following oh why cant we do time travel :( |
Does Simon Jain not have a residency at The Pheonix? Hes probably my second favourite DJ going right now and was planning to go to London just to see him and support. (hes sofaking good!)
Your words bring me frowns about London. :( Even Kitchener, being the hole it is, surprisingly has a good solid knowlegable crowd of EDM fans who amazingly support local and not so local talent like mad. I would have assumed a city such as London would at least have the same theme.
BTW, Id like to hook up with some London TA some time to check out Simon if any of you are into that :) |

theyre coming back to TO in january.. i believe the 18th right now. but dont quote me on that. and yes simon is i guess the resident dj. he has a night going there called we love the underground where he comes in once a month and then the other sats are covered by nathan barato, carlo lio, tim patrick, joee cons, greg benz, jelo. it started in september and the crowd size was probably 40 people tops. but it has probably doubled now and there are what we can call 'regulars' down there. including a sketchy asian. lol... oh wait. im one of those. hahah. anyways... robst*r definately come on in. ill be there. as the time comes closer, pm me and ill line-bypass you and whoever you bring. theyve stopped letting me bring people in for free unfortunately, but its $5. which is nothing. students are very cheap here.
im from waterloo myself, and revolution has a good crowd. especially when dennis hahn is there. |
