Club Monaco (where have they all gone? i hardly see this store anymore?!) |
What happened to this former great International former Canadian company? Joe Mimram sold the company to Ralph Lauren in 1999. I am a family friend of the former VP and best friends with the former director or franchise expansion, and the sale was a terrible one. Ralph Lauren layed off all the best staff, tried to take it to the next level, but ruined it instead. |

:) For sure! I have a close friend who is a local designer, and I know it's not easy when competing against the big clothing labels/stores.
Her designs are really unique, and amazing, and all the garments made in Toronto, so buying them means putting money into your community. I, personally, really like that idea. |
Please do remember to let me know! I'm all for supporting our community. I hope I find something I like! or find something cheap just to support. |

So that's what happened...
I had no idea that Club Monaco wasn't Canadian-owned anymore.. and here I was feeling all glad that this Canadian chain was doing so well across the border
:disbelief
Anyway, Joe Mimram is know the behind the brand Joe Fresh line available at Superstore.. super affordable stuff and the quality isn't too bad either. |

every store pales in comparison to topshop. for real. i miss it so much. i wish they would expand into canada.. |
Honestly, if it expanded to Canada - I think it would suck bigtime. Look at Mango - I used to LOVE that label back in Dubai, now it's utter . |

Macy's in the USA.
Makes all our department stores look incompetent. |
