nothing really it was their testing base for numerous projects which ended up flashing in the sky crashing down and such and people go right away OMGZ i have seen alienz with 3 asses and 1 eye but ye as it seems not much activity there due to big attention to that facillity, now whats being promoted as area 51 is in scotland out in freaking fields there are exits out of the ground which are sealed really good have electric fence around and guards keeping it safe which might be some underground research but yeh !
as for aliens it self we went over this already if humans think that we are most advanced spicies, then they should be sent to an island and bombend just for hell of it, when you look we didnt even know that pluto was a tiny dick ass planet and now we are geting this infos that there are few more galaxies which could contain another few planets around anddddddd such

look up 2006 interviews with John Leer/Lear. He hasn't "worked" (its never been confirmed he worked in Area 51) in years, but his latest interviews would point to what the scientists might be involved/have completed since his departure.
