The woman behind JOY LIVIN - Dreamer (Janis Robinson) was a panel speaker !!!! The story behind the tune is, she was signed to an Italian label ran by the mafia in Italy. She wrote the song in 20 minutes on the train to the studio as a favor for a friend who was a producer & dj.. She left italy to her home in Garfield , NJ not thinking much of this tune she wrote. One day she gets a phone call and mca records & emi publishing wan't to do her a deal next thing she knows shes touring all over the world and her tune touches millions of people which is #1 in 29 countries. She is still collecting thousands in royalties from "Dreamer" and to this day is making a career songwriting for big producers in the pop industry.
She stated "Dance Music was my key to the door in the music industry"
Trust me you defintely have heard "Dreamer" one time in your life ! Either on the radio or in a club. I was in total shock when she put on the cd that this was the woman who wrote this song. Her story was really inspiring and gave me motivation to keep writing & producing music!!
