Old school CLASSIC Trance, help find

I am new to Trance. I have found many different forms of Trance.
I feel that I like "classic" trance the most by fareven thgough I have had trouble finding it.
No disrespect to the artists or you listeners but "Progressive Trace", which seems to be way dominant, is very often too "poppy" for me.
Any suggestions on classic trance tunes or artists, if there remains any, would be appreciated.
Classic trance>>>> space age, long, unwieldly, repetitive and unresponsive and not socially acceptable to the "masses".
One example is "Age of Love" by Age of Love.

Firstly, save us the bloody stupid "It's too good for the general population!" elitist bollocks. I'm sure your dick grew an inch when you started listening to it, but we've heard it all before.
Secondly... artists to check out:
Spicelab, Cosmic Baby, Cygnus X, Dance 2 Trance, Jam & Spoon (Tripomatic Fairytales 2001 is one of the easiest classic trance albums to find), Resistance D, Union Jack.
Also: Sven Vath's earlier albums are a mixture of straight-up classic trance and some trancey ambient and breakbeat pieces. Worth a look. And early Paul Van Dyk- although right up until about 1996/97 he still had a strong classic trance flavour in his sound despite moving into progressive, which is why "Seven Ways" is my favourite trance record: it's still got that "pure trance" feel to it, but adds some of the melodic and production aspects of progressive. |

Lest we forget, Oliver Lieb, Sven Vaeth releases as Barbarella, EyeQ, Harthouse, Platipus back catalogue.. :)
