Unless China pays more attention to the environment they're society is going to collapse and they wont be able to produce all that cheap we buy at wal-mart.

Well the thing is, is the Baiji is a prehistoric dolphin, it's lastest this long so, for them to go extinct is like crocodiles going extinct or something, you have to seriously then environment for that to happen.
Anyways, it's especially dissappointed cause my dad has spent most of his life trying to save this animal only to see it die off in his lifetime.

Wow that's sad news. Wouldn't surprise me if this is the first of many things like this that happen because of China inudstrializing.

Its easy to blame the Chinese for not caring about the environment, we're here enjoying high standards of living and watching all this from our high chairs.

At this moment, they don't give a about the environment, all they want is to be like us.

Environemenatalisme is a new thing for the west, we too destroyed our surroundings.

Well you're actually totally wrong about that. In many ways the chinese care more about pollution then the west does, because they realize but only recently that they have critical issues they have to deal with right now, or the economy will collapse.

Sure there is some very dedicated people in China that care about the issue. But they have no voice in the big red government, the economy is the first priority of Beijing and it will prevail over the others until they notice things can't go like that forever.

The masses are even worse, they don't give two about it because for the most part they're uneducated and don't see the link between their environment state and their survival.

Not really. The government actually is doing alot to try and make changes cause they have serious water and air issues, they know the economy is ed if they dont solve these problems. Thats why there's chinese going around the world stealing technology for water treatment and the like.

err dude i guess u misunderstood or i didnt explain. I meant that the chinese economy WILL collapse if they dont solve their water issues, they realize its a problem and are trying to work on it now. Which is a good thing, of course they're doing it for the 'economy' but it's happening either way. And you dont understand the level at which my dad does his work, not just some hippie who runs around in boats, he's in with the senior government in the US and China so stfu noob.
