01 Rael Borg - It Feels Good [Sunday Mix] (Indented)
Sod the January gloom, this track's got hot summers written all over it! 4-to-the-floor breaks - it feels very good indeed!
02 LJ MTX - Melodee (Metronix)
Simplicity's the key here: rising sounds dropping into crunchy electro-tinged shuffles... sweet dancefloor fodder.
03 Jinx - Dreadrock (Bassrock)
An agressive party breaks piece with afro vocal clips and scratch samples thrown in for good measure, plus a warm bassline which sounds awesome it drops in!
04 Kill Memory Crash - Shots (Ghostly International)
From the "Of Fire EP", this fierce electro rocker from the Chigago trio is going to do some serious damage.
05 Zombie Nation - Forza [Housemeister Remix] (UKW)
Yes, THAT Zombie Nation... since Kernkraft 400 they've been busier than you might think, with a whole host of electro and techno smashes under their "ZZT" moniker. But here it's the Housemeister (Martin Böhm) who delivers a larger-than life bassline work out!
06 Emiele Coolen feat Marco Joosten - Flower (Excessive)
This Dutch partnership gave us "Manic" in 2007, which quite frankly I thought was a rip-off of "Tainted Love", but this is really - well, 'nice'. Just a good rolling feel, a simple progression and looped summery melody.
07 Pig & Dan - Confusion (Hedgehog)
This gem's hidden on the B-side to "Twisted Lip" and boasts a fairly minimal beat with a massive distorted bassline, perfect for the late hours in the dark rooms!
08 Tigran Oganezov - Teleportation (Detox)
As I find with most stuff on Detox, Mr Oganezov's latest offering is fairly formulaic, but somehow combines generic tech-trance stabs and an equally generic electro bassline to make a really original bounce - guaranteed to go off at peak-time!
09 Keemerah - Agua Keena / Lu Pulque (Zua)
This was the first I'd heard of Mexican house producer Keemerah, but he's seriously delivered here with a dirty double A-side, "Agua Keena" being the more uplifting of the two, while "Lu Pulque" is certainly the choice for the small sweaty clubs.
10 Christopher Manik - The Smiley Face Gang (Audio Logic)
Audio Logic made me sit up and listen last year when they put out the self-descriptive "Colossus" by Row, but this is my choice from Manik's new EP "Astoria & The Skeleton Key", which takes the form of a a very versatile deep-but-powerful electro progger which could slot in nicely at any time of the night. |
