1. Royksopp - What Else Is There (Trentemoller Remix) ~ not that there aren't better tracks out there, and they're all good, but this is what got me started on this guy (T-moll) and I haven't quit since. (2005 I know, but i heard it first in Feb '06.)
2. Starkillers - Diskoteka (Kobbe & Austin Leeds Mix) ~ another huge production duo for me from this year.
3. Satoshi Tomiie - Glow (Spirit Catcher Remix) ~ big fan of Satoshi's sound, this song pretty much sums it up for me.
4. Chris Lake - Changes (Original Mix) ~ it got a bit overplayed by everyone but for sure a great track when you first heard it.
5. David Amo & Julio Navas vs. D-Nox & Beckers - Memory Cell (Original Mix) ~ simply because all these guys are dope!
6. Last Rhythm - Last Rhythm (Martijn Ten Velden Remake) ~ MTV continues to impress lately and I don't think has reached his full potential.
7. Max Graham - Crank (Original Mix) ~ basically became one of my favorite DJs this year and someone that I feel my sound is closest to.
8. Flash Brothers - Past Will Be Future (D-Nox & Beckers Remix) ~ part FB recognition as a great prog sound, part unreal remixing skills of D&B.
9. Union Jack - Two Full Moons And A Trout 2006 (Luke Chable Remix) ~ LC continues to be the and this year is no different, why I like this particular piece is because this was one of the first trance tunes I liked back in the day.
10. Till West & DJ Delicious - Same Man ~ Call On Me of 2006, but exceptionally better, this song took dance floors by storm and literally outplayed every other track out there. Now we hate it but you can't argue when you first heard it it just made you dance the out of your body.
I've got plenty more, but those are definitely worth mentioning.

well ok maybe I will - you all know house is really just my cover for listening to Pop music. Ok not really. But it struck me just how much better some gets [Pink, Missy Elliot, Paris Hilton (ftw!), etc.] once it's remixed and remastered by artists of our genre - an aspect which has always impressed me. |
