Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum, and I came here because I wanted to see how people who really listen to trance react to my music. You can check my stuff out here.

Hey james.
I think your ideas are pretty neat, but you definately need to work on your "sound". First piece of advice I can give is not to use the same beat in multiple songs :)
Secondly, you desperately need the help of non general midi sounding synths. I think that your melodies are really cool and innocent to the dance scene, but if you are going for a trancey type of sound you should study up on some current dance music. A very general source of this would be to listen to Armin Van Buuren's A state Of Trance weekly.... or catch it late! What you are considering "trance" here wouldn't pass for innovative 15 years ago. I'm not telling you this to discourage you, I just want you to know that this is a idealistic music genre, and new mindsets are what make interesting electronic music. So search deep inside of yourself and find out what makes your brain tick. What attracted you to electronic music? What would you change about a current hit? Think about it ;) |
