Edit: Besides, all be it interesting and all, seems it's not anything that new. There's been chatter and the like in the 'Pure' math community for ages.(granted, that crowd probably should have done a lot more or a lot less acid. But...there's really no way of telling.....hmmm) In our linear thinking, the nulity theory would have to imply that infinity in either direction is an even #.
Hey! Anybody like Trance or know where I can find the brown tone? |
Oh come on people!!! That was like 4 days ago and no one, even in an intellectually charged thread such as this, could even say...."nice! I totaly got that 3 layered multi-level reference! Very funny....;)"
Bahhhh!!!!:disbelief |

Well perhaps then, in the future, if you're looking for people to recognize your humor, you should.. ACTUALLY BE FUNNY! :stongue: :haha: :happy2: :tongue3  :D |

LOL, Ok. I can be happy with a heckle. But the thing is, you didn't even get it. See, that's where it fooled ya see. You assumed the humor angle and completely negated the clever angle. Too much time on picking smilies) After all man, look at the thread! Definitely more clever then funny. |

Again: because it wasn't funny, LOL.
You made an erroneous statement on the even nature of 0 divisives (in fact, it would be another layer in itself of the mathematical model, much like infinity itself, and i'm sure you could give it positive or negative attributes eventually, once we've layed out exactly how the model will function), which is why I didn't reply to it... didn't want you to feel like a fool or anything.
happy holidays! |

Ok, ok but what I was trying to get at was and to avoid everybody's brain frying contemplating the division of zero, aren't we really talking about the 4th dimension? As to say, projecting upwards and downwards from the conventional left and right of the present model? Thus maintaining zero as being finite/absolute when approached with the current model while still allowing a new intersecting one? |

So simple and obvious, yet no one had thought of it.
I'm a software developer, so I can already see all the problems that this is going to solve!
Personally, I think that our systems of mathematics could use a few more addendums like this; maybe an internalized logic structure would be useful also. |
I hope this doesn't get put into eve online any time soon  . There is a chance that the enemy ship will hit you depending on how far you are away with a few other variables... but when you are displayed as 0m away they can't hit you because comps can't devide by 0. No more exploiting for me :nervous: |

| Is it just me, or does anyone else think Dr. Anderson is bullting with his nullity concept ? |

He tried to divide by zero to reach nullity and his face imploded. |

It's not just you. And who does he think he is giving a value to infinity. :eyespop: |

It's no more bull than the concept of zero or nothingness. |

If sticking it into equations results in answers which have value then I guess it captures some valid aspect of 0. Only time + DJ Shibby will answer that :D
