I think Energy 52 - Café del Mar started something. It sort of defined the Ibiza-trance, and I think it was the first trance-track that went top 10 (in Norway I think).

I think, and I think the biggest part of the Netherlands will agree with me, that the most "defining" track has to be FELIX - Don't you want me.
This track has been an all time trance number one for many years here in Holland. Their formula was even being copied by producers like SM-Traxx.

Also, MIKE KOGLIN - Enjoy the silence and SPACEBROTHERS - Forgiven have played a big part in trance history, at least they did for me.

Trance is definately very easy to listen to and I gotta say one song I would mention is PVD's For An Angel...err I dun think this track defines the moment but it definately was one of the tracks that was big when trance was getting very popular...

latez...

For me it was probably in 1996 (I think it was 1996) when Dreamland was released by Robert Miles....

I bought that CD and instantly fell in love with the music and played it nonstop.. Back then I was also heavily into playing Quake 1 online and I was in a bunch of clans.. I would pop that cd in and listen to it all the time whenever I played.. hard to believe I never got sick of it.. Anyways.. when it labelled as 'progressive mediterranean dream trance' I had no clue where I could find more music like this...

Oh yea.. in case any of you played Quake 1 back then, remember the original QuakeMania page in 1996? (not quakemania.com) That was mine.

Trance is my favorite type of music, but the scene is dying down and house is becoming more and more popular all the time everywhere, on the wide scale of things...i don't want the music to fade out...what can be done to change this? I am asking because i am a Trance Dj and truly see this happening

but the album that did it for me was the 1st Legion's of Green men
