Speaking of albums, looking fwd. to Katana's album next year.
It should surely include some of his newer productions as well as some of the earlier stuff w/ Mark Norman. Can't wait. |

| I have to say Steve Roach - "Proof Positive" is one of the albums that stand out the most for me this year. Truly awesome rhythmic/sequenced ambient, hypnotic and driving yet relaxing at the same time. One of my personal favourites among "modern" Roach albums. |

I agree with some dude above, Trentemoller came out of nowhere. |
Actually he's been releasing pretty quality tunes for a few years now, although this year was undoubtedly his year of recognition. "Le Champagne" for example, which became a hit amongst the deep house crowd this year, was released over 3 years ago. His ever popular remix of "Du What You Du" has been around for a couple of years as well. Come to think of it, he's released more productions of consistent quality over the past few years than a lot of the producers out there. In fact, seeing as how his older productions have gained & regained popularity and are still played out, dare I say he is/was ahead of his time?

anything containing the track "Tracking Treasure Down" deserves to be nowhere but MILES from any list containing top albums of the year. |

As far as just sheer originality and creativeness, it's definitely BT - This Binary Universe. This should even go without saying. Math music has been done before, but not on a microscopic scale.
If you're going to stay in the realm of dance music, I'd probably say Vibrasphere - Archipeligo, although I haven't liked what I've heard of it so far. |
