Separated or not from dancefloor

Just curious what you guys prefer.
Personally I like a bit of distance between myself and the dancefloor.
Not a lot, but enough distance so that coming up to me and talking requires the person to leave the dancefloor. Keeps the drunk idiots at bay.
Thoughts?

i agree. i also like it if the booth is a bit raised as opposed to the normal floor, because you get a better view of the crowd and their reactions. also, people will be more reluctant to come and bother you if they have nothing worthwhile to say.

I like being in a dark booth in the back where people can't see me. I'll never understand where the whole crowd up to the DJ booth and face the DJ while we're dancing bull started. Yes I'm guilty too.

Know what you mean......there is far too many trainspotters hanging around just waiting for you to up in the slightest.

It should be about the music, not the DJ.

I don't like being so close I have everyone constantly on me trying to chat....don't get me wrong, I LOVE the interaction...but it's distracting when I'm trying to keep my mix flawless! haha
