you forgot the crap smilie, because, seriously those looks like Frontpage templates, except for the first one that looks like... a Serendipity template.

I would help you, but i've been super busy with my current job

Nice to see we have so many website experts.

Sorry, none of those are Frontpage templates. I don't even own Frontpage. You can bitch all you want, but my customers are paying and happy. I give them exactly what they want; websites that are easy to navigate and easy to look at. I don't overload my sites with Flash or other gimmicks that take away from the products or services that they are trying to sell. To them, websites are a storefront, not a crap fest of un-needed bells and whistles.

BTW, if you looked at the actual code, you'd realize A) Frontpage wasn't used and B) for columbuscycling.com, Serendipity as well as phpBB and the other pages were all created to look similar, to give something called consistency and fluidity to the site...sorry no pre-found templates. But I'm sure I wouldn't have to tell such experienced web designers that.

Buy hey, what do I know...the two guys bitching have their websites at myspace and blogspot. We surely have two pros here.

Firstly, I wasn't bitching - I was simply saying that your websites look like . You seem quite well practised in defending yourself though; it's almost like you have to give that speech quite often. Funny that.

Secondly, I never said you used Frontpage or a Serendipity template. I simply said I could quite effortlessly replicate what you've managed to achieve there using Microsoft Publisher.

Glad to see i've struck a nerve though.

Flash is just that a gimmick and I wouldn't expect a serious website to have flash as the main navigation interface.
The only reasonable uses for it are ad banners or something where it truly has a functional use and no being used as a means to demonstrate flash knowledge.

The sites you showed work there is no doubt about that but they looked piss poor there is no denying that .... but what the hell do I know about that with all the typography, colour, space layout etc theory I have studied through the years.

The designs you showed made nothing more than usage of passe cliche trends ( Aqua styled theme puke ). All these sites are stuck in the mid 90s when knowledge wasn't big enough in the matters of usability design

using myspace and blogspot as down points of other people :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: everyone is on myspace these days! It's a necessary evil ( including for designers ).

I only did a little web design on Dreamweaver so I've got nothing to give but I'm doing it again in my next semester. :p

I agree with jdat that Flash can be used in such unprofound ways and should only appeal when used properly and that the site still had some sort of solid structure.

DA wasn't sure about it and I then I thought not everyone would get the in-joke, so I changed it back.
