On occasion I like second cup's butter pecan - but only when I make it at home. All of second cup's coffee in store is brewed way too strong for me.
Did you know roasted beans only have a shelf life of 5 days? The coffee we get from almost every coffee shop is older than this. |

Starbucks for regular brewed coffee.
Second Cup for espresso/lattes.
Dark roast FTW!
coffee fact of the day: the darker the roast the less caffeine it has. |

Coffee is one of the few things that I am very particular about.
At home what I do to get the best coffee is..
1)Buy a very dark roast of beans
-any african bean is good, ethiopian, kenyan, kulawesi, or good old french roast(what most restaurants and cafe's use as espresso beans)
2)Keep them in the freezer
3)Grind the amount of beans you need per serving, using any made for home coffee grinder
4)When you think you've ground enough, grind 50 percent more
5)Then grind another handfull
6)Use a french press/bodom
This lets you make coffee at nuclear strength, which is the way it should be served!
My personal favourite beans are from timothy's, the sumatra blend. |

I pulled out this Coffee Gaggia espresso machine that we got a while ago, and made espresso with it the other day.
Holy is that ever an awful lot of work for almost nothing. Pretty cool though, the frothing thing, and the ultra high pressure junk going on inside. |

LOL ive been using one of my rents old gaggias for a while. once you got it down. it takes no time to whip up a nice espresso. |
