Any of you kicked the soda drinking habit? (pg. 5)

Ever since I've paid my own way in life I've essentially stopped drinking coke/soda. I used to drink quite a bit of it when I was a kid (and the 'rents were buying), but when I first moved out bills were fairly tight and I couldn't be bothered to waste the money on that rather than other things. At this point I'm so used to only water that I really don't have any desire to drink a coke anymore. I'll occasionally have one (maybe one with lunch every few weeks) but it's not too common...if you can just force yourself off it for a few weeks you should be fine.

It's been exactly a week since I stopped drinking. I still get the cravings for it, but I don't give in. I found this fruit punch from Tropicana that has no sugar, carbs, etc, etc, made with real fruit juice. It's a bit more expensive than a 2 liter of coke, but worth it to drink instead.

The only sodas i drink mostly are DEW and sprite... Lately ive been drinking water and apple juice because my throat was burning like hell and I had trouble swallowing. I even had off and on hiccups. It got so bad... i had to go to the emergency room:nervous: :nervous: :nervous:

I went through a period of not drinking soda for about 2 months. It was really really hard to kick actually. Every time I would go out to eat I had to force myself to just get water instead of a soda. Anyway, I lost about 5-6 pounds (with minimal exercise, and slight dieting) and I think it's mostly due to not drinking soda. However, I've since fallen off the wagon. I keep telling myself I'll stop drinking soda again to drop some pounds...but alas, soda's grip on me is too strong :(

Hehe, this is funny. A few years ago I decided to stop drinking (or at least drink less) soda's like Cola and Fanta, and I don't even know why, really. Now, I rarely drink that stuff, which is really weird when you think about it because back in the day when I was in high school, and I used to get home all thirsty, the first thing I'd do was quench my thirst with a glass of coke.

I have this friend who still drinks a lot of Coke on a weekly basis, but I'm glad I quit. It's so much healthier, for your teeth, your body and your skin. Now all I drink is water, and occasionally this nice fruity drink which you probably don't know, but here it's called 'Taksi' and also occasionally a nice glass of chocolate milk. Ow yeah, and a few beers in the weekend.

The cool thing about it, is that my body is totally not used to caffeine anymore, so it actually really helps me when I drink a can of Red Bull now!! Unbelievable. And I thought it was all bull.

I did that early this year and it worked.
I just decided that if it was no good for me then I should stop. And I mean, when your a kid, you get into the mindset of wanting sweet things, but since I have lost my sweet tooth altogether and never have chocolate, biscuits or anything, I made the change.
Plus, after leaving school I've realised that if its a hot day and your working outside water is the BEST thirst quencher ever, I mean, its obvious it is but damn I love a cool glass of water.

I use to love soda now... I tone it down with the high fructose corn syrup. People say the Japanese have bland tasting food but it's no wonder they are the longest living people in the world because of their diet.

i very rarely drink it. maybe once in a while with pizza or something...i drink one cup of coffee in the morning, water all day (about 3 big cups) and then wine at night along with more water.

I rarely drink soda anymore - only if its the only thing i can find and im really thirsty. Otherwise, I find Pepsi and Coke nasty... Sprite is the only soda I can actually drink.
