I've seen him speak in person and he's far from being a bitch. He's VERY passionate about the NBA (and especially about the WNBA). Having to deal with this fiasco really pained him, especially with all the work he had to do with repairing the NBA's image since the Ronny A/Detroit incident 2 years ago

Never heard him speak but I do respect the guy a lot...I'm all for NBA globalization but the WNBA should roll over and die. I'm a woman and I'm comfortble saying women's basketball is less than exciting although the NCAA tournament can get exciting at times but rarely

Nothing compares to the Serbian fight/riot they showed on ESPN a week or two ago. That made the fight in Detroit (and New York) look like a elementary school fight.

Link? sounds interesting!

was that the same game charles barkley jumped up to the tables for the officials at MSG? i know that was during the 1993 season.

no - the brawl i'm talking about took place in phoenix and was in the '92-'93 season when the knicks won 60. home record that year was 37-4 (and i was at 3 of the 4 home losses...). the one you're talking about was '93-'94 season when barkley jumped over the scorers' table and went after bavetta in the tunnel.

the problems with the nba are: (1) expansion teams diluting talent (2) rule changes which in an attempt to increase scoring, have taken the game out of players hands and robbed it of its passion.

you want to make the nba better? eliminate about 4 teams and stop trying to control the league's "image."

The Nfl is going in the same direction with the Giants leading that movement.
