AVI to DVD

So what's a good program that will convert AVI to DVD format, then what's a good program to write the DVD format to a DVD?
I've tried dozens of programs, and can't seem to get any to work/burn right.
Just got through trying the Cucusoft AVI to DVD video converter, it seemed to work at first, then all these errors kept popping up.
Any help would be appreciated. |

there's numerous ways to do this and it depends on the encapsulation in the avi etc
read up on www.videohelp.com you'll get all the answers you could ever think of. |

1) I used to use WinAvi for the converting. If you use WinAvi, the avi file is converted into a few files, which you have to burn to a DVD then.
2) For the burning itself I just used Nero. |

that's also a great suggestion considering the chances that the converting may add some audio delay or something like that it's just not worth the hassle. |
