i was thinking that too, confused as to how i thought it should be played considering it has no reference to a year at all...

We're the champions of surviving another year?

Ummmm what??!! You're recommending Euro and especially Italo from the 80s to ring in 2007???? Maybe for a crowd of 40 year olds in Rome...
I can see it now. This young DJ playing to a young crowd a tune like Vamos A La Playa oh ohooooo :haha:
Then mixed into Raf's bad cover of Laura Branigan's "Self Control", followed by an anthem that goes "How Old Are You", or Sabrina chanting "Boys boys boys I'm looking for a new love" :wtf:
In comes Baltimora singing "ohhooohoooooohoooo Jungle Life...like Tarzan's Boy" :p

I don't know what's scarier - a new year's party that includes all these songs...or the fact I might actually turn up for such a party since I know all these songs (Euro is a big guilty pleasure of mine) :nervous: :wtf:

I do however am not ashamed to admit I love Gazebo "I Like Chopin" or Ryan Paris "Le Delce Vita" :toothless

Death Cab for Cutie -- The New Year

quote:
so this is the new year.
and i don't feel any different.
the clanking of crystal
explosions off in the distance (in the distance).

so this is the new year
and I have no resolutions
for self assigned penance
for problems with easy solutions

so everybody put your best suit or dress on
let's make believe that we are wealthy for just this once
lighting firecrackers off on the front lawn
as thirty dialogues bleed into one

i wish the world was flat like the old days
then i could travel just by folding a map
no more airplanes, or speedtrains, or freeways
there'd be no distance that can hold us back.

there'd be no distance that could hold us back (x2)

so this is the new year (x4)
