I'll be there in a couple of hours. I expect magic, or no one's coming out of that joint alive.

How the hell was it guys?

OMG what a dichotomous night it was. Great sets from EVERYONE (Parsons was tearing it up right off the bat, and Bruce and Dave just tag-teamed the hell out of the decks), and I have never been more uncomfortable at a gig in my life. Sky was the wrong venue for an event of this magnitude. Why oh why did they NOT open up the second floor before Tony and Paavo even walked through the door? It was a crush-fest while Dave & Bruce were spinning and it only got worse from there. To make matters even worse, I'm not sure who the brilliant ing genius was who chopped the club in half and cordoned off large sections of floor space for a goddamn video crew, private party, and two go-go dancers, but that was not wise. Not wise at all. I spent so much time just trying to maneuver around the wall of meat wearing Eternal Network shirts just to get within camera range through the smokescreen that I stopped paying attention to the music the entire night. I couldn't ID a track if I was paid to, just because I was giving more of a about how to get from point A to point B through the seething mass of idiots who would deliberately move into a flowing lane of "traffic" and then stop in the middle of it. I'm no font of PLUR anyway, but after an hour of just trying to get from one end of the floor to the other I'd become a simmering volcano of -dom. By 0130, I'd retreated to the VIP floor just to be able to breathe with both of my lungs, and I was so pissed off by the whole thing I didn't even stay for all of A&B's set. I was so morale-plowed by this godawful environment that I didn't bother trying to find folks, because I'd have never reached them even if I did (ie - I never saw Dave again after Tony and Paavo took over, not in that crowd; he may not have even stayed for all I know) and if I did, I'm certain they'd have been virally infected by the total- mood I was in. Just badness, having an event like this ruined by the casual indifference of a few clowns who just wanted to show off.

On the other hand, I think Sky made money hand over fist. There were more people there for A&B than there were for Hernan Cattaneo, but contained in 1/3 of the space that Hernan Cattaneo had available. Contemplate that, and imagine the horrors that followed. Any and all assistance in trackspotting for this would be welcome, as I have until Wednesday to concoct some kind of review to salvage this without me just being bitter about the whole thing. I'd have probably drowned all this angst at the bar, but I lacked the hang glider to get to one for long enough to order. :whip:

Sorry to hear that. Sky is starting to really lose it in terms of how to manage events and really see what is 'fan friendly'. The bottom line is that events of that magnitude need to be somewhere else.

The show in Dallas was so incredibly awesome. Ashley Tomberlin (the lead vocals for 'Can't Sleep') was up in the VIP with us. It was really cool to hear the girl that sang the vocals SING the vocals to that track while they are playing. A&B put on a very high energy set for about 2 1/2 hours. Then Steve made it possible for all of us to hang out with them until we left (of course, Ash made pics and small talk with Tony and Pavo even easier. Thanks Ashley).

Sorry to hear that was the way it was there.

I'm definitely with Nath that it was packed but the show was amazing. Everyone had great sets just like he said and I had about 5 hours of trance which did not let me down one bit. I had never really heard much from above and beyond before hearing about this show. I found some sets from them before hand and let me just say that they are much better in person to me. I am definitely a fan and managed to squeeze in a Paavo autograph at the end. I already got my tickets for Satoshi and Digweed.

After watching my girlfriend's grandma die in front of me...I was already in a weird mood. I was late to the gig because of all the support I wanted to give the family, but in the end I had a decent night.

All I wanted to do was play Snow Patrol - Open Your Eyes (Allende Remix), and I got to do that. Hearing the support from the crowd made the day better, but I got a little bored at the end. Luckily, Andrew kept me entertained and I stayed till the end.

Lizandro, sorry about being a dick for not mentioning my name on the mic while I was mixing. I was having a bad day and the oversight came when I was feeling a bit low. No hard feelings?
