As for the place, it's my first time there (and my first time in OC since August 2005!)
Very nice place, has a sushi restaurant in the front, which I hear is very good. The entrance is to the side of the restaurant, so you will miss it unless you know it's there.
Inside it's a decent size. Long bar to one side, bottle service booths glowing red on the other. The middle is a dancefloor.
Normally there are projections on the walls around the ceiling, so it is normally brighter, i'm told, but since Junkie XL is "live", they focused the lights on him. Good to get pics of Tom, but bad because wide-angle shots of the crowd usually is very dark.
Anyway, the vibe seemed really good. Most of the typical OC crowd goes to Sutra on Thursdays, so there a few sterotypical OC people there, but mostly it just seemed to be people having a good time.
Lots of fans, and lots of new fans who all came up to Tom and complimented him. The place closes at 2, so the lights go on at 1:45-ish like Monday Social.
One good thing I noticed was there is a private booth with bottle service right next to the stage just for the DJ, which will definately make any DJ feel comfortable.
The second good thing is after the music is over and they start clearing everyone out, the securty does five all the fans lots of leeway to get pics with the DJ and talk with them. No bouncers rushing them out the door until it's getting close to 2.
The overall vibe, I would have to say, is like a larger Monday Social. If it continues with this, I think all the DJs playing are going to get lots of new fans, and the old fans will have a blast. |

| my friend amanda and i showed up after Rodericks... it was about 1:40am and they were already pushing people out for closing. would have been there earlier but a cop pulled me over for speeding. ha! |

he must have been but at the same time i dunno cause i NEVER saw him hit the laptop from when he started at 12 to when i left at 110am except for when he was prepping to get on. other than that i never saw him use the lappy.
