The sounds in this are pretty good, but it has a few things holding it back:
(1) The kick sounds kind of weak, like there is a low-pass filter on it or something.
(2) You have the kick cut out for a whole minute from around 1:10 to 2:10. This makes the track lose a lot of energy for me. You should probably either leave the kick in until the guitar comes, or add something else in addition to the stuttering stuff you have going on at that point.
(3) Having the piano play the same notes along with the bass makes it sound really "sing-songy." It could be made a lot more interesting and add tension if you mixed things up with the piano. Maybe even do some of the stuttering stuff on it that you do on the pad sound. |
