Edgar V & George Acosta @ Spirits, 12-22-06 Review + Pics

First off I gotta start this review by saying tonight I was not at 100%. I hadn't gone clubbing sick since Tiësto @ Space 8-17-02 followed by Sasha @ Crobar 8-19-02. Clubbing sick is always a risk but I said I didn't want to miss tonight even if I was on my deathbed.

So begins this review.

I made it out to Spirits in Hollywood and wouldn't you know it? The CP guest list didn't work for . I left the line and was on my way back to my car, but not before sending texts to Groove Eric and Relik, not to mention running into miamitrance04 and chach. I told them my dilemma and they said they'd see what they could do. In the meantime, I hung around the walk of the entertainment complex, jamming tunes on my PSP.

I got a text back from Eric saying Nexusgroove would help me out, so I headed back to Spirits where I found him outside and waiting. He helped me get in, and for that bro, you are the in' man. Thanks! And thanks to Eric for contacting Nexus as well.

Inside Kato K from Y100 was playing a cheesey housey set which had me :haha: the whole time, but it was def. acceptable compared to the crap I heard at Space for Oscar G and Sharam of Deep Dish. Barbie asked me to dance with her while Kato was playing, but I couldn't move. Music was too ty. I was anxious for my trance fix.

At midnight Edgar V came on and annihilated the place with his brand of house nastiness. As I've said before, if there's anyone I can handle some full blown house, it's Edgar. As always he got the crowd going and jumping. Hell, even I was dancing to this brand of tunes thrown down by the V man.

After a while George Acosta came on.

GODDAMN.

I have seen Acosta a few times and have never been too impressed with him but tonight was a total kick in the ass. He absolutely DESTROYED Spirits tonight; he did it in a manner which resembled PVD, according to Richie. Hearing THIS, plus drinking 3 Long Island Iced Teas, got me totally motivated and dancing with Barbie and her friend (OMFGHI2U!!!!) whom I was with for virtually the whole time.

Absolutely FLAWLESS mixing and perfect track flow performed by Edgar and George. Tracks thrown down by George included:

Tiësto - Lethal Industry (Richard Durand mix) <- Thx to Relik for this ID
Dogzilla - Without you (John O'Callaghan mix)
Robert Miles - Children (Sean Tyas mix)
Sean Tyas - Lift
Cocaine
Sun Decade - I'm alone (Stoneface & Terminal vocal mix) <- Personally I love the old Ronski Speed remix more than this version but this one was pretty good too.
Lost World - A life elsewhere

And my 1st of 2 tracks of the night.......

Rank 1 - Airwave (Sean Tyas remix) :eyespop: :eyes:

I went absolutely berserk to this. George then stepped off for a bit so Edgar could continue with more trance tuneage. He played Armin van Buuren - Control Freak (Sander van Doorn remix)...

And then delievered the 2nd tune of the night...(sorry Carlos)

U2 - where the streets have no name (NU NRG remix)

:gsmile: :gsmile:

I went crazy again and took some video of it.

Tonight I danced so much I got a cramp in my right leg. :wtf: In 4 years of clubbing/partying, that has NEVER happened before. WTFBBQ.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting av1 and Eddie G for the first time and great partying and seeing everyone again. Carlos, thx for the drinks, man.

Pictures and video to come later today.

All in all, an extremely successful, smashing, fun-filled night.

Awesome work Edgar and George.

Kato K...cheese comes from Wisconsin.

Review ends.

Thanks, baby. :D It was absolutely incredible! Easily the best night at Spirits ever. Def. a very nice way to kick off this (ANTI)holiday weekend! Loved hearing your voice again too. :D I wish you could have been there, as well as Kel Kel. :(

If you didn't come out tonight, for whatever reason, you missed out. George Acosta fan or NOT, he PWNED Spirits tonight. Period.

The video for Where the streets have no name came out pretty good, even in low quality, I must say. This bad boy will be uploaded later today for sure. ;) av1 was like :wtf: when I was jumping up and down when this song hit. :p

quick recap. kato k played some wacky stuff, though some tracks were good. Edgar ing owned. George Acosta ing owned. Incredible night. Even though I missed Where the Streets(DA I was in Rodrigo's car when you text'd him, when he showed me that I was in shock) it was an amazing night. For those of you who missed this event, you really need to go next time. Incredible. I'm there for the next one. Nice seeing everyone and meeting av1.

All i can say is WOW :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

I have seen GA a couple times as well and i was expecting his usual brand of epic "OMG THE WORLD IS ENDING" trance but he wasn't about that last night. He dropped MAJOR TUNE after MAJOR TUNE.

Mac & Mac - Rippin' Base :eyes: :eyes:
Tyas - Lift
Children (Tyas remix)
Lethal Industry (Durand Remix)
Cocaine
Plastic Fantastic :eyes: :eyes:
4 strings - take me away (the good remix?)
The space we are (JOC remix)

Great night. I know where I'm gonna be on Fridays
