Recommend me some Trance...

Im a trance n00b, my main interest has always been metal.
I got some stuff from Infected Mushroom, Skazi, Astral Projection, 1200 mics and a few others...
Im looking for something thats got an eerie/sci-fi kind of atmosphere to it. Eg... Like the tracks "Flying into a Star", "Another World", "Liquid Sun" by Astral Projection.... or something more aggressive like "Animal" or "Pissed off" by Skazi...
This is the kind of stuff that I like best and I try to make stuff like that myself.
So what kind of stuff should I be looking for?

| Also check out digital blonde's stuff. It's not full on psy but it's got a very obvious sci-fi feel to it. |

From what you state, i dont think your actually looking for "Trance". Everything you mention falls into Goa and Psy.
You should try some of the following starters:
Juno Reactor
Yahel
Wizzy Noise
S-Range
But perhaps you metal heads might feel at home and enjoy another sounds a bit more: Drum and Bass.
Look into it and try:
Evol Intent
Bad Company [UK]
Spor
Noisia

Thanks for the heads up. I think i new that. 
But when he goes and says "Recommend me some TRANCE".
I dont think he wants things that actually fall into "Trance".

that is not TRANCE either. that is epic trance. as a matter of fact goatrance is closer to the original definition of trance than the poppy vocal stuff of Above & Beyond you call trance. |

This is how genres get re-classified. Say, "Oh, you don't want X, you want Y!" And you can still admit that Y is really a type of X, but only when pressed on it.
Maybe we "haters" should start replying to people with things like, "Oh, you don't want trance, you want something like Markus Schulz."

Let's not get ing technical? What the hell man, you're the one who made the argument that psy/goa is not trance. Frankly I don't think you do know what trance originally sounded like, based on your screwed up definition.

You called Above & Beyond and Markus Schulz "trance". May I ask why you suddenly decided not to be specific there? You should have called it epic trance. Or atleast progressive trance. But no, you seem to think that Above & Beyond is more valid as trance music than Astral Projection.
