I just saw the movie La finestra di fronte (Facing windows.) It is an italian movie, very touching and it reminded me how much I miss european cinema, mostly italian, spanish and french but others as well.
Does anyone have the same interest? And where do you go to watch/rent/buy/download these movies?
Zeidoo
Don't know where to rent them, but in Quebec french movies are awesome.

RRRrrr!!!, Amélie, L'auberge Espagnole, Asterix and so many more

Hollywood movies sucky! Except The Professional and V for Vendetta.

BTW Quebec movies tend towards Euro style:

Bon Cop bad Cop, La grande seduction, Seraphin, Les boys, Elvis Gratton, etc.

No not really as I am not a fan of american production and that is the reason I stopped going to movie theatres. As long as it's indie and with subtitles bring it on!

I will definitely check out that film, sounds interesting.

Must see for italian films: Cinema Paradiso, Malena, and all Fellini films as in the infamous La Doce Vita.

French: All Luc Besson films. Quebec cinema: Maelstom

German: All films by Tom Tyvwer.

Spanish: Motorcycle Diaries, and Ammores Perros...there's loads but thats all I can think atm...

I strongly agree! He's an amazing producer/director/writer.

Can I rent all of the above at Blockbuster? If not, where then? Where do you guys get/watch these movies?
heavenisblue
a great place for hard to find films is Bay Street Video. I took russian cinema last year, and they had all the movies I needed from 1917 - today...and its all dvd's, which is nice.

In Waterloo, I forget the name of the store, but its just off King Street heading towards Kitchener from Waterloo... , I forget the major intersection!

I had ALL your ing indie and foreign films you could EVER want!

Another Quebecois film I want to see (...I know its not european) is Good Cop, Bad Cop with Colm Feore.

Colm Feore played an awesome Pierre Trudeau in Trudeau and plays an OPP cop in this one and supposively this flick is about Quebec and Ontario stereotypes, which sounds interesting.
