Just Bought Cubase SE

I just purchased Cubase SE from my local DJ shop. The guy in there said it would be fine for cleaning up my live mixes. I wanted to use it mainly for leveling out my mixes, and making them sound a little better so I can hand them out to promoters to get gigs. Anyway, I do not know much about software, but I can spin the outta some records. So, I was wondering what else I can use this software for. Can I use it to remaster a track that I like but I don't like the sound of it? What I mean is could I use it to remix it? Hope I am making sense. And, how would I use this software to clean up my live mixes? I just want to make sure I have the right software for the job cause I cannot return it once I open it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

you can do a lot w/ cubase... best to get yourself Cubase power or some other reading material because no one is going to be able to answer your post here with out a lot of writing.

It's not really traditionally used a tool for remastering or DJ-type edits, although it's certainly got the power to be used that way (though I'm used to SX, not entirely sure what's left out in SE).

Remixes sure, that's typical, but then proper remixing is the same as any other production, it takes experience and skill, it isn't something that can be done on the first crack.

Bottom line, I'd say, is that Cubase can do all the things you want to do that, but I think you'd be happier with Ableton Live, or even Wavelab if you're just talking about mastering and no edits.
